AICAR (50mg) Dosage Protocol
AICAR (5-Aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide) is an AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activator. Research has explored its effects on cellular energy metabolism, endurance, and metabolic pathways.
Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water → 25 mg/mL
150-500 mg daily, based on research protocols
At 25 mg/mL: 20 units = 500 mg per injection
Lyophilized: -20°C; Reconstituted: 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks
| Week | Daily Dose | Units (per injection) |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1-2 | 150 mg daily | 6 units (0.06 mL) |
| Weeks 3-4 | 300 mg daily | 12 units (0.12 mL) |
| Weeks 5-8 | 500 mg daily | 20 units (0.2 mL) |
- 1Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe
- 2Inject slowly down the vial wall
- 3Gently swirl until fully dissolved
- 4Label with date and concentration, refrigerate immediately
AICAR is an analog of AMP that activates AMPK, a master regulator of cellular energy homeostasis. AMPK activation promotes glucose uptake, fatty acid oxidation, and mitochondrial biogenesis. Research in animal models showed improved endurance and metabolic parameters.
- Activates AMPK pathway
- Research suggests metabolic benefits
- May support cellular energy production
- Studied for endurance applications
